Goodhood Loves...
Autumn/Winter ‘19 is very much upon us (yes, we know it’s still technically summer, but this is fashion!), so this month we round up the best of the season so far. Whether it’s the newest brands, or the latest trends, we’ve selected some of our highlights in one, easy to navigate, place.
As well as looking at what’s already here we’re also previewing some of the upcoming releases that we’re really looking forward to seeing in the near future. Whatever you’re into, there’s plenty to be excited about. Enjoy...
LAUNCHING EARLY SEPTEMBER
Wtaps
We’ve been longtime stockists, and massive fans of WTAPS sister brand Neighborhood, so to say the imminent arrival of Tetsu Nishiyama’s military inspired streetwear label has got us excited would be an understatement.
Set to Launch in early September, expect the usual array of tees, sweats, outerwear, shirts and more, with totally on-point graphics and more than the odd nod to vintage Army pieces along the way. Whath this space.
COMING SOON
FABRIC AND FUNCTION
hyper-tech
The introduction of Stone Island - a brand with an incredible history of innovation; starting with Osti and working with modern designers such as Acronym founder Errolson Hugh - is the first in a line of AW19 arrivals that focus on boundary-pushing garment technology. Expect cutting edge fabrics from Arc’Teryx Veilance, the first delivery of Haven and Jun Takahashi’s latest Gyakusou collection to drop in the coming weeks.
JAPANESE LUX
EAST MEETS WEST
If imitation is the ultimate form of flattery, then Japanese brands such as Toga have re-invented the rules. Rather than imitate, they elevate the pillars of Western fashion in a way nobody else can. Wacko Maria, and AiE add a premium edge through the addition of fine fabrics that add a tactile element. Toga even take on the Italian fashion houses at their own game, reinterpreting the silks and jacquard knits we would normally associate with Milan.
NEW ARRIVALS EARLY SEPTEMBER
Needles
Goodhood loves Needles. Pretty much says all we need to say. Created by Nepenthes founder Keizo Shimizu (read all about Keizo in our Nepenthes feature), Needles are back in force for AW19, with more patterned outerwear, patchwork shirting and signature pieces. Keep an eye on our Instagram and newsletters for info on the collection going live.

Sustainability
The addition of new collections that focus on ecologially sound practices from the likes of Story mfg. And Nicholas Daley. We also went to the first mile sacktory - London’s leading recycling hub - to Interview Seetal of Ma-tt-er, about her pioneering work in the field of sustainable materials, and her recent work with Converse on their Denim Renew project.
OUR LATEST JAPANESE ADDITION
OUTRAGEOUS SLOGANS
Japan’s Black Weirdos are firm favourites with the Goodhood team, their irreverent humour that references the world of drugs, beer and a whole lot more, sees them join a growing band of brands who aren’t afraid to push the envelope. Wacko Maria, P.A.M., Richardson and Stray Rats are expert exponents of satirical slogans, and we’re looking forward to welcoming Erik Brunetti’s Fuct back this season, the king of not giving a...

Some of the most famous brands around started life with one thing in mind - function. Dr. Martens and Dickies are true Goodhood favourites, and we’ve recently welcomed Red Wing to the brand roster, probably the most recognised name in workwear footwear.

THE PERFECT ROUTINE
eco-friendly grooming
The average daily grooming routine can, over time, be hugely damaging to the environment, with harsh chemicals, and single use plastics in high volumes. However, as society becomes more aware of the need to live more sustainably, skin and hair care brands are beginning to follow suit. Malin + Goetze, Doers of London and Patrick’s to name just a few are all focussed on manufacturing that has a much smaller impact on the environment.
