What’s your most played album/artist at the moment?
I’ve been listening to playlists that I have made, with an eclectic selection of music I like. Oh, and Anima by Thom Yorke is dope.

What are you currently reading?
William B Irvine’s A Guide to the Good Life: The Ancient Art of Stoic Joy

Do you have any quick/tasty meal suggestions?
I'm a bit of a fiend for toast with peanut butter, layered with sliced banana and a drizzle of honey on top :)

What was the last good film you watched and what did you like about it?
The Joker - I loved piecing together the Batman saga with Arthur Fleck’s back story. The styling and cinematography were excellent too.

Tell us something you’ve found yourself doing, that you normally wouldn’t:
Massive online group meditations. Very uplifting and the sense of connection through community is touching.

What’s the thing keeping you sane in these strange times?
My children, they are an unmatched source of joy and light.

SAHRA

What’s your most played track at the moment?
Les Sins – Bother. Michelle (our intake supervisor) and I listen to this non-stop when working at the warehouse. Quote “don’t bother me, I’m working”. Words to live by. But seriously, don’t bother me.

What are you currently reading?
The menu list from Casey’s in Clapton (@caseysclapton). I’m putting together my order for pickup this weekend - you’ve gotta support your local cookie dealer through this.

Tell us something you’ve found yourself doing, that you normally wouldn’t:
It was my birthday this Sunday just gone, I spent all afternoon organising my sock drawers into a combination of colour, thickness and length categories.

Do you have any tips on staying healthy and/or fit at home?
Lift weights whilst taking a conference call. If you don’t have dumbbells, use your stockpiled tins.

What’s the thing keeping you sane in these strange times?
The Lifestore! Now is the perfect time to up your home game.

JOE

What are you currently reading?
Kraftwerk: Future Music from Germany by Uwe Schutte.

Do you have any quick/tasty meal suggestions?
There's a Meera Sodha Okonomiyaki recipe that's super easy and really good. I like that. Eggs, cabbage & flour is all you really need for this one.

Tell us something you’ve found yourself doing, that you normally wouldn’t:
Zoom meetings 24/7. Never thought I'd miss our office meeting room so much.

What’s the thing keeping you sane in these strange times?
Animal Crossing New Horizons.

KYLE P

What’s your most played album/artist at the moment?
Four Tet’s new album just dropped, I’ve been playing that a lot recently. Power hour music…

What are you currently reading?
I’ve recently picked up Erik’s Fuct book. More images, over reading. Still worth a call-out though- it’s excellent.

Do you have any quick/tasty meal suggestions?
Spaghetti with tomato sauce. Banger.

What was the last good film you watched and what did you like about it
It’s an old one, but I recently watched The Machinist. Christian Bale is such a diverse actor and plays the part really well.

What’s the thing keeping you sane in these strange times?
I think keeping routine is important. Get up, shower and go to your home office as if you’re heading into the actual office. I’d say it’s better for the mind, over how you smell/look, haha. Also, working on a van that I’m converting into a camper - weekends in isolation aren’t that bad…

ANDREW

What’s your most played album/artist at the moment?
Couple of NTS Specials – I think we should all be sharing good music right now: Snakefinger Special from Aldous RH & Merzbow Focus Session

What are you currently reading?
Bit of work stuff - Do Open by David Hieatt, Slavoj Zizek’s Like a Thief in Broad Daylight and re-reading Factfulness by Hans Rosling

What was the last good film you watched and what did you like about it?
Not a film, but watched the new series of Sunderland ‘Til I Die in one sitting yesterday. I wont spoil the ending!

Tell us something you’ve found yourself doing, that you normally wouldn’t:
Actually watching less TV, sitting in our bay window watching the world go by has been wicked

What’s the thing keeping you sane in these strange times?
Board games, just got Pandemic, so excited to play it!

NAT

Do you have any quick/tasty meal suggestions?
My go to family recipe which is very quick and simple. Chop up potatoes, carrots, onion, apple into 1cm chunks. Add olive oil, salt, pepper and chuck them in the oven for 30mins. YUM. If you want to jazz it up add sausages on top.

What was the last good film you watched and what did you like about it?
Moana - I’ve watched it about 1500 times in the last two weeks. The thing I like most about it is that it distracts my child for long periods of time! Balancing life right. The soundtrack might be becoming my guilty pleasure...

Tell us something you’ve found yourself doing, that you normally wouldn’t:
Enjoying a beer and a pub quiz over Zoom, with friends and family from around the world. In a time where we’ve been told to be distant from each other we’ve managed to find a way to be together more than ever.

Do you have any tips on staying healthy and/or fit at home?
Don’t set that bar too high, there’s more than enough to worry about right now. Focus on what keeps you happy and sane! My tip would be to make sure you take that one walk a day, soak up and enjoy the peace, especially those used to living amongst the busy London streets.

What’s the thing keeping you sane in these strange times?
The thought of doing regular things I had previously taken for granted. This time in isolation has given me, and I’d imagine many others, a new perspective.

MATT

What’s your most played album/artist at the moment?
I’ve found myself going back through a lot of old classics recently - especially the likes of Led Zeppelin and Cream. Although, Mansur Brown’s ‘Shiroi’ seems to be a bit of a go-to for me at the moment as well.

What are you currently reading?
The Order Of Time by Carlo Rovelli. It’s essentially a blending of science and philosophy through the mind of a theoretical physicist trying to distinguish the meaning of time. It seems quite fitting seeing as I’ve got a lot more of it on my hands at the moment...

Do you have any quick/tasty meal suggestions?
Cashew & Peanut Tofu Noodles - super quick, super easy and insanely good. Throw some tofu, broccoli, mushrooms, sesame seeds, spring onions and garlic into a pan and boil-up some rice noodles. Then blend together some cashews, peanut butter, soy sauce, mirin, water, rice vinegar and sesame seed oil for the sauce. Add it all to the pan, stir together for a couple of minutes, and voila!

Do you have any tips on staying healthy and/or fit at home?
I think it’s really important to get into the routine of dedicating a specific time of the day to exercising, whether that be indoors or outdoors (whilst socially distancing of course). Personally, I find the mornings work best for me. Of course, it’s great for your physical health, but I find that the routine of it also really benefits my mental wellbeing.

What’s the thing keeping you sane in these strange times?
Talking to people. It’s pretty obvious really but we’re so fortunate that we live in a time when we’re more connected than ever. Having a few virtual pints with mates over FaceTime is a surprisingly good laugh - you can bring the pub to your own home! There’s no excuse not to pick up the phone and call friends and family to check how they’re doing. Everyone appreciates a call!

JEZ

What’s your most played album/artist at the moment?
Mall Grab - Worship, Skin on Skin - Get Some Understanding, Loods - Steel City Dance Discs Vol 11, Four tet - Sixteen Oceans & Wilson Tanner - II

What are you currently reading?
The Book of St John & Secrets of the Sommeliers. If you know you know...

What was the last good film you watched and what did you like about it?
Being a big Adam Sandler fan growing up I can't go past Uncut Gems. His performance is phenomenal - I had to rewatch it last week.

Tell us something you’ve found yourself doing, that you normally wouldn’t:
I've been listening to music non-stop at the moment, it's something I usually can't find the time for. I've also been digging through old records and rediscovering my love for playing music. Music is a brilliant form of mediation, it's really helped me maintain a positive mindset.

What’s the thing keeping you sane in these strange times?
I absolutely love cooking, so I've been spending most of my time in the kitchen trying new things. Food is often the best medicine so I've been putting extra thought into sustainable eating and limiting waste - something I have learned from the masters at St John Bread and Wine.

AMY

What’s your most played album at the moment?
Listening to Man Alive loads because I’m still gutted about King Krule’s Brixton show being canceled last month.

What are you currently reading?
Just about to finish 'We Have Always Been Here' by Samra Habib and it’s oh so very good. One woman’s memoir on being queer, forced into an arranged marriage and having to move countries in order to escape danger. Would recommend.

Do you have any quick/tasty meal suggestions?
I’m trying to avoid spending this self-isolation period eating nothing but crisps, so I've been making vegetable dishes as snacks. Pan-fried tender-stem broccoli with salt, pepper and chili flakes is the current fave.

What was the last good film you watched?
Not new but rewatched Mid90s the other day. What a film, what a soundtrack.

What’s the one thing keeping you sane in these strange times?
Making things! I’m really lucky a few of my hobbies involve not having to leave the house, or I don’t think I’d cope too well with being inside all day. I’m making a new zine at the moment, want to make a ceramic sculpture of some sort too. Perhaps a nice mug.

BOB

What’s your most played album at the moment?

My most played album at the moment is KIDS SEE GHOSTS by Kanye West and Kid Cudi

Do you have any quick/tasty meal suggestions?
Highly recommend oven pasta (any sauce) don’t think many people have ever tried that before...

What was the last good film you watched?
“Same kind of different as me” this film had me speechless,  I would highly recommend it (on Netflix too). I loved it because it’s based on a true story and it will change your perspective on homelessness.

Do you have any tips on staying healthy and/or fit at home?
Try to maintain a good diet, go for a daily run and keep yourself hydrated!

What’s the thing keeping you sane in these strange times?
It would probably be my fiancé - I’d be lost without her. We do everything together during this difficult time.

JOHN

What’s your most played album at the moment?

Thundercat - It Is What It Is

Do you have any tasty snack suggestions?
Carrots & hummus - I eat a lot of carrots. They’re good for your eyes (allegedly) and your soul.

What was the last good thing you watched?
I’m currently watching a series called “Devs” - gripping to say the least. It’s about life in the simulation ...

Tell us something you’ve found yourself doing, that you normally wouldn’t:
Contemplating the end of the world as we know it haha but also appreciating each interaction I have with other humans.

What’s the thing keeping you sane in these strange times?
Making. I bought a sewing machine a few weeks ago and have been getting back into making bits. A very calming outlet to have right now.
